God's Advice

If you have ever had the experience of buying a house then you will recall the advice which most real estate agents will tell you about selecting the right property for your needs: Location! Location! Location!” This means: become aware of the Location of the town; take notice of the Location of the neighbourhood within that town and be clear about the Location of the house in the neighbourhood.

But have you ever considered that this advice is just appropriate to your Life as a Christian? Here is how I see it.

As people of God, we must be aware that we Live and breath and have our being under His design and sovereignty. That means we must not just be aware of his creation, but must acknowledge and accept His Plans for us as a part of that creation. Thus we acknowledge that we are located in God?s Heart!

To be fully nourished in the depth and power of His word, we must be situated within a body of feLlow believers. It is here we together teach and learn from one another as we explore the Scriptures; the Word of God. Under extraordinary circumstances, God may ask his people to worship and obey him in individual solitude, but for the most part, his plan is to have us share the praise of His GLory and the work of His Realm as a body of like minded members. That is what the church has been calLed for. We are located in a public body which witness for God?s love and~ concern for all of his creation.

Yet these two Locations are not enough to satisfy our heart felt longings. To be truly at peace in our lives and soul we need to accept the offer from Jesus: Accept his sacrifice as the remedy for our own personal sin and then accept Jesus out stretched hand which he offers as our invitation to become his personal friend, and a co-heir to the rich power and peace of God; a personaL connection through Jesus to God our father in heaven. We must want to be located in Christ, a result of His Holy Spirit which is located in us.
